Many Analysts, especially those who cover Technology stocks, don’t believe that including Stock-based Compensation truly reflects a company’s performance. When building earnings models, they like to strip the GAAP Income Statement numbers of Stock-based Compensation.

This can be a painful exercise in data gathering, unless you have it readily available as a downloadable time series as Gridstone users do.
