For the last several months, we have been working hard on making big, fundamental changes to our data taxonomy, changes that will allow us to roll out powerful, useful and unique features in the months to come. Today, we launched Version 2.0 of our platform, which leverages this new taxonomy. As always, the focus of this post is to highlight some of the changes in this version.

A new home page

The first change you will notice is that the home page is different.

We have expanded the Watchlist and ‘Recent Updates’ sections. For every Watchlist, important data is now available right there, on the Home Page. You can also choose whether you want to load new companies in the same window or in a new window. Just click the little ▼ next to the “Go” button.
We are also making available a Beta version of a new Search tool.

Better “comps”

Your feedback has been that our “Compare” feature on every parameter is very useful, and our new taxonomy allows us to do an even better job of giving you a small and relevant set of parameters for each comparable company. We have also expanded the options available for comparison. Just click on any parameter, and choose from Default (we choose the companies and the parameters), My Watchlists (you choose from one or more of your Watchlists), or Custom (you type a set of tickers). Of course, you can still click on “Compare Companies” and build a comps sheet yourself.

Based on user feedback, watchlists will increasingly become a central tool for selecting a group of tickers everywhere in the application.

Parameter descriptions

Given the rich data we provide, several users asked us to help them understand the parameters better. In this release, for most important parameters, you will find useful descriptions of what those parameters contain, including any company-specific phraseology, explanation of non-GAAP or pro-forma adjustments, etc. Just hover on the parameter to see these details.

Hundreds of possibilities, so little time!

These are just some of the many changes that we have introduced in Version 2.0. Our new taxonomy and search tools will allow us to do things that few company research platforms have been able to do so far, and we are eager to implement them soon.
