Like I always do, over the course of the next few posts, I plan to write about some of the cool new features we’ve introduced in v1.3. The first feature that I’m going to write about is Consensus Estimates.
We released version 1.3 today, continuing the process of adding powerful and useful functionality to the Gridstone platform. This version includes a few oft-requested features from customers, and I think they’ll find them really useful.
Consensus Estimates The first new feature in version 1.3 is the inclusion of Consensus Revenue and EPS Estimates.
You can now see one additional line for these parameters, which will provide you with Street Consensus for upto 4 quarters and 2 fiscal years ahead.
In addition to the company’s guidance that we have thus far provided, Estimates will provide an additional guidepost in your modeling.
In an earlier post, I wrote about the Event Highlight feature – a feature that allows you to highlight the cells that were updated with new information when you were away. That way you can focus on just the new data that came in.
Some of you might wonder what happened to the feature in release 1.1, since the event highlight icon has been removed from the toolbar.
Based on user feedback, we’ve made some changes to that feature. Click on the “Events” section in the tool bar.
The feature I’d like to write about today is our "Fuzzy Search" feature. For those of you familiar with our platform, whenever you want to make changes to a grid or graph, we take you to a ‘builder’ that looks like this:
After preparing for the CSCO earnings release by reviewing the Gridstone Research Quickviews of “Key Data”, "Guidance" and "Previous Quarter", I received an email with the recap of the earnings the morning after the call (See Figure 1.)
To set up alerts, I simply go to my Gridstone Research home page (immediately after log-in) and select the Set up alerts link under the Shortcuts box. Once I select the companies through this process, an email Highlights report will be sent to me after each earnings release.
In highlights reports, Gridstone Research analysts review the call, the transcripts and distill the results in bullet point format for rapid review.
Note: At the top of the report, there is a link that takes me to the CSCO page in Gridstone Research where I can explore the results in complete detail.
